WTF. Are you Twilight fans crazy ?!

Tonight hundreds of Twilights fans camp out in tents in Los Angeles ahead of next week's world premiere of the last film in the vampire romance. Summit Entertainment has said that about 2,200 people from all over the world registered to camp on a concrete plaza outside a downtown Los Angeles movie theatre. Nice enough, Summit has planned special activities during the five day wait such like, screening four of the other films in the saga and "twilight workouts". Twilight has made more than $2.5 billion at box offices worldwide.

The reason why I chose this article is to admire the talented creator of the well known saga Stephanie Meyer. Her brilliant ideas well put together have created a fortune. It must be one of the best feelings to know that their are millions of people all over the world who are swept off their feet reading her books and watching her films. Point is, people are ditching work, school just to camp out in front of a Los Angeles theatre when the premier isn't until a week, that's just crazy but I'm sure the writer takes this as a huge  compliment.

This impacts me as a student because I know how important school is and to hear that students are missing many days of school just to watch cast walk the red carpet for the films preview is crazy, but shows how many loyal fans are out there. On the other hand, as a future filmmaker I believe this inspires many writers out there, shows creativeness can lead you to many paths. As a consumer I believe this inspires me to want to watch the movie.

Regarding the article, I am curious how does the writer deal with such tension like the Edward and Kristen situation? what is their back up plan if one of the main cast backs out of the movie?

  1. We did the same article(: I can't believe how many people are missing school and work to see celebrities walk down the red carpet. I personally would not miss school for this. I like your reason for doing this article

  2. This no longer surprises me because I remember reading other articles about loyal fans patiently camping out and waiting for the arrival of the Harry Potter and Hunger Games stars :)
This is not a bad thing though, because just like you said...this only proves that loyal fans are still roaming about and choose to demonstrate that love and passion. I absolutely love movies but I have never camped out for days...the closest I ever got was to simply stay up for the midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. :)
Yet, I also wonder if parents are completely all right with the fact that their children are missing school.

  3. It's nice to know there's loyal fans still around, but that might mean they're too into the franchise. If they're willing to go this far.. some of them might be willing to go even farther or create a ruckus over things such as the real life relationship of Kristen and Rob.
I also wonder the same thing as Alexa.. are the parents okay that their teens are missing school for a movie?
