Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar was born June 17, 1987, he is an upcoming hip hop recording artist from Compton, California. His album was ranked as one of the top digital hip hop release. Kendrick expresses himself in his music about girl trouble, a lack of economic opportunity, the retributive gang violence that leads to "bodies on top of bodies".  Well known artists like Dr Dre signed Kendrick Lamar to his record label "TDE" He is a new rising artist that is going to be making history in the entertainment industry and inspiring many with his powerful lyrics.

This article caught my attention because this talented artist has been making headlines. I know this article is music related but it also has to do with film as well, their are filmmakers recording every performance and him on his journey to a A-list hip hop artist.  Films such like "Notorious BIG and Katy Perry" was based on their life, where they were from, what their lifestyle as a child was like growing up in their neighborhood, and how all their life struggles were their inspiration in becoming a well respected artist. I believe it's about "capturing the moment" and this is why I find it important because all type of publicity for these artists like "Kendrick Lamar" does expose their talents.

I find this article inspiring in many ways. As a student this impacts me to stand up for what you believe in, don't stay quiet and speak what you believe in. For future filmmakers,  I believe they'd be impacted by this article because there are always documentaries on these incredible artists and they can one day work on projects like this. As a consumer, this impacts me because millions and millions of people are willing to pay to watch artists grow and working with projects such as documentaries.

This article doesn't really raise any questions for me. I'm proud of these artists, they are inspiring and without filmmakers we wouldn't be able to understand exactly where these artists are coming from, filmmakers bring a "better picture". The only question I'd probably have is, who decides on creating the documentary?

Do you still find me frightening ?

The film Paranormal Activity is based on supernatural events. This is the fourth film in the Paranormal Activity series. Top critic Joe Neumair from New York Daily News states "of course, a promise of more activity to come. But unless moviegoers think it's worth watching another whole cast of characters sleep while their furniture moves around them, only diehard fans will stay awake for that next entry. " As I research over this new movie, I find it easier to find negative comments on the film. People don't seem to be thrilled as they were three series before this upcoming "4".  Critic's are not expecting paranormal to make top box office but they believe the series takes a steady income. Paranormal Activity will have competition with the film "Sinister".

I choose this article because as a viewer, I've watched practically all the paranormal activity movies but from watching the third one I was loosing the thrill I used to have for those movies. What caught my attention to even write about this was that I was finding a lot of negative comments regarding the film. It seemed to me that not only I am a bit tired of all these series but so are other people as well.

This impacts me as a student because films like these focus more on a young audience, due to teenagers going out more than adults. As a future filmmaker this makes me realize that you have to pay attention to your feed back from your audience, change things up a bit and improve. As a consumer, you should step up your game, if your bringing all these series to the plate might as well make some changes don't bore your audience.

I wonder if the producers think the way they set up their series are not "too similar". I'm curious how they brainstorm their ideas and if they rely on the audience's opinion. I would like to know if there is a possible chance for "Paranormal Activity 5"?

Congratulations! you've reached the "I hate children" meter :D

For some people it is no surprise that our presidential candidate Mitt Romney has rejected Nickelodeon's invitation to "Kids Pick the President". He made the announcement on October 4th after he had announced about about cutting PBS. On the other hand, Obama even invited nickelodeon to the white house and answered the questions of the children. Press asked Obama's campaign how they felt about Mitt Romney rejecting nickelodeon's event "Kids Pick the President" and they stated "It’s no surprise Romney decided to play hookey. Kids demand details, and I’m sure they want some answers on why Romney could increase their class sizes, eliminate their teacher’s jobs, raise taxes on their families and slash funding for Big Bird. Unfortunately for Mitt Romney, ‘The dog ate my homework’ just doesn't cut it when you’re running for president."

I chose this article because it takes a big part in Americans, this is the man who is running for president and wants to cut PBS an educational program for children and doesn't want to participate with children events which the children are our future. I believe Mitt Romney should have taken the time to hear what the kids had to say and answer their questions.

As a student this disappoints me, I feel as if Mitt Romney doesn't take students seriously as he should. Today's children is our future, and he needs to hear them out and show them he's willing to support. I don't believe Romney is on the right track for running for president, It's going to take a huge  responsibility to please everyone and from what I've seen, he's better off letting Obama do his job. As a future filmmaker I believe the media like TMZ did a good job in exposing Mitt Romney's rejection to "Kids Pick the President"  and as a consumer I wish I would have seen more of what Romney had to say about his actions.

Reading this article raises questions like does former governor Mitt Romney have the right intentions for America ? Would he help our country or will he make our situation worse. I wonder if he cares about our students and our education, that is really scary.

who's your daddy?

The question is, who is going to take over the box office? Critics are saying that Taken 2 will be expected to make $45 million and $50 million according to pre-seen release audience surveys. The distributer itself is lowering the expected income of the movie down to $35 million "Twentieth Century Fox".  Taken 2 is practically Tim Burton's black and white film "Frankenweenie" competition. When the original Taken was released in 2009, it made a surprising hit, bringing in $24.7 million on a Super Bowl weekend.

This article is based on who is going to top of the charts in box office. Taken 2, Frankenweenie, and Transylvania are going to be released around the same date. Critics are expecting Taken 2 to make another hit and out due Tim Burton's film (Frankenweenie). It's been all based on a pre- seen release audience survey.

I chose this article because I'm a big fan of the original film TAKEN. The film was outstanding and full with action, I've watched this movie over at least five times and I'm still not tired of it. Knowing there's a part 2 coming out I'm excited to watch it and see what the french director Oliver Megaton brings to the table. What caught my eye was that there is a chance that the film will make more in box office then the Tim Burton's film "Frankenweenie".

This impacts me as a consumer because being in the entertainment industry you need to be very logical of how you handle your money. Budget takes a big part in the film industry, every film needs lot's of investment in order create the big picture you visualize in your head. At the end you do make a profit, I believe. Taken 2 is expected to make at least from $45-$50 million in box office, that's a lot!

My question is, who will make the most ? I also wonder, what happen;s when a film doesn't make it's expected value. Does it impact the whole production team ? I'm sure many are excited to view this upcoming films.
