New York Film Festival
This upcoming Friday the New York film festival will be presenting their 50th edition with the world premiere of Ang Lee's awards "Life of Pi". The festival will be premiering many top movie titles such as "Flight" by Robert Zemeckis and "Not Fade Away" by David Chase's. Richard Pena has directed New York's Film Festivals since 1988, he was always open to promote obscure work if he felt it was worthy like Iranian and Chinese Cinema. Critics state "Richard Pena has become the world's most prestigious- even if it is". Many film makers are looking forward in attending this film festival. Richard Pena also comments about him being happy about moving on and trying out other things.
The article is based on the event that will be taking place in New York on September 28, 2012 the New York Film Festival. Richard Pena the director of the festival will be honor for all his hard work that he's put in for the last 25 years. This article is important because it is a huge event that makes headlines world wide, every film maker wants to be involved in this event. This impacts me as a student because I get to see what's the fuss in the entertainment industry and how little films come up to big screen movies. As a future filmmaker this catches my attention and shows that this where I should be to get inspired by all these creative directors, as a consumer I'm sure many want to be involved in the event because it's something you can invest your money in and make a large profit out of it. My questions is, what are the concerns of the directors attending the festival.
